Qatar's Madibo Banned Five Games for Breaking Kone's Leg
A five-match ban has been given to Qatari midfielder Assim Madibo for his tackle that broke Canadian player Ismael Kone's leg during a World Cup match.

The disciplinary committee of FIFA has suspended Qatar's Assim Madibo for five matches after his challenge caused a serious leg injury to Canada's Ismael Kone. The incident occurred during Qatar's 6-0 loss to Canada in the World Cup. Madibo, aged 29, was shown a red card for the tackle. Kone, a 24-year-old midfielder who formerly played for Watford and now plays for Italian club Sassuolo, suffered fractures to both bones in his lower left leg. He underwent surgery in Vancouver following the match and was visited in the hospital by Madibo. The ban is for serious foul play and is subject to appeal. Meanwhile, Canada is preparing to face Switzerland in their final group stage match, aiming to finish as group winners.
