Second stage of volleyball festival held in Madliena
After being postponed due to bad weather, the second stage of a volleyball festival took place at Madliena school stadium with seven teams competing. Team 'VK Blice' won the men's category, while 'Lauvas' topped the MIX group.

On September 5, Madliena hosted the second stage of its annual volleyball festival, originally scheduled for August 22 but postponed due to a storm. Despite unsettled weather returning on the rescheduled date, the event went ahead as planned at the local school stadium.
Seven teams took part — four in the men's category and three in the MIX group. The festival is organized entirely through volunteer initiative and community effort, without municipal funding, with participating teams covering a small entry fee. Three fully equipped volleyball courts were set up on the stadium field to keep games running smoothly without teams waiting in line.
Men's category results
After the group stage, 'VIP' finished first, followed by 'mscentrs.lv' in second, 'VK Blice' in third, and 'Salidojums' in fourth. In the semifinals, 'VK Blice' defeated 'mscentrs.lv' convincingly, while 'VIP' beat 'Salidojums'. In the third-place match, 'mscentrs.lv' won in three sets against 'Salidojums'. The final pitted 'VK Blice' — whose players come from Jēkabpils, Jelgava, Jaunjelgava and Vecumnieki — against 'VIP', representing Vecbebri and Aizkraukle. 'VK Blice' claimed the title, repeating its first-stage triumph.
MIX group results
In the MIX group, 'Tosteris' automatically secured third place. The final saw local team 'Lauvas', with some players from the Lielvārde area, face 'Bez mīga myužeigi', whose roster includes players from Jēkabpils and Rēzekne. 'Lauvas' won the title on home ground.
Event organizer Rolands Kļaviņš credited support from the Madliena Culture House, the local municipal administration and the school for providing venues, equipment and stadium access. The winning men's team also received a cash prize from the company 'MichaBeauty'.
