Home Café Days, an event in which home cafés welcome guests across Latvia, recorded 84,041 visitors between 4 July and 13 September. That is 3.6% more than last year, the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) reported. The figure suggests that interest in the event continues to grow.
Offerings in every region
This year 568 home cafés received visitors, covering all of Latvia's cultural-historical regions. According to LIAA, menus included ostrich meat dishes as well as lamb meals. Fish dishes were also on offer, as were meals served in the middle of the Daugava river.
Besides food, hosts told guests about local apples and how cider is made.
Organisers and what comes next
Home Café Days are organised by LIAA together with the Latvian Rural Tourism Association "Lauku ceļotājs" and regional partners. The event took place across Latvia for the sixth year in a row. It will continue in 2027.
LIAA is a state agency under the supervision of the Ministry of Economics. It helps Latvian companies grow in international markets, attract investment and develop innovation. The agency supports company exports, the opening of new markets, the implementation of investment projects and the strengthening of Latvia's competitiveness in the global economy.
