One of the paddleboarders immediately reacted, using his SUP paddle as a platform to carefully lift the raccoon and pull it onto the board. Initially, the small animal was frightened and wary of its rescuers, but once it felt safe, its behavior changed. The raccoon calmed down so much that it even tried to hide and settle comfortably between one of the young men's legs while the board moved toward the shore.
After reaching land, the pair let the drenched creature go on its way. The two men remained seated on their boards for a while, unable to believe what had just happened, still in complete shock.
