Mālpils Hosts Strawberry Festival with Rock Theme
The sixth Strawberry Festival in Mālpils features a 'Rocky Strawberry' theme, including a market, concerts, fashion show, and sports.
Today, Mālpils in Sigulda municipality hosts the Strawberry Festival for the sixth time. The local government has set this year's theme as "Rocky Strawberry". The event combines culture, art, sports, business, and a rock-infused summer experience.
The festival opens with a traditional parade inviting residents, groups, and businesses. Throughout the day, a craft and local food market operates. At the Art Manor, an international competition exhibition "Teodors 2026" commemorates the 150th anniversary of sculptor Teodors Zaļkalns. A new addition is the fashion show "With a strawberry on the tongue", featuring outfits in strawberry shades.
The concert program is led by Uldis Marhilēvičs' team, with daytime activities for children and adults, and an evening rock concert by popular Latvian artists, followed by a dance party. Other features include "Conversations on the strawberry couch", cafes, and activities for all ages.
Sports enthusiasts can join a football tournament, tug-of-war, and a ball game. Admission is free.
