Man City strike £65m agreement for Everton's Ndiaye

Manchester City have reached an agreement with Everton to sign Senegal winger Iliman Ndiaye in a deal worth up to £65m, made up of a guaranteed £60m plus £5m in potential add-ons.

Tottenham deal collapses

The move comes after Tottenham had already agreed terms with Everton on Friday night for Ndiaye to join the London club, in a separate transfer that would have sent Brazil forward Richarlison back to Everton. However, sources indicate Richarlison could not agree personal terms with his former club, despite Everton's offer of around £35m for him. As a result, Tottenham were unable to proceed with their move for Ndiaye.

On Monday, Richarlison posted an emotional statement on Instagram, saying that after everything he had been through in recent years, he had decided no one else would decide his future for him again. He said his intention had genuinely been to return to a club where he had once been happy, but that negotiations had unfolded only in the way certain people wanted them to, and that this would not happen again. He confirmed he remains under contract at Tottenham and available to the club.

Tottenham are now in talks over a season-long loan for Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk.

Liverpool's Gakpo deal in doubt

Manchester City's move for Ndiaye follows reports that an £80m deal sending Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo to City looked set to collapse on Monday. City had opened talks with Liverpool over the Netherlands international, with Liverpool willing to sell him provided they could bring in a replacement.

Liverpool completed the signing of France forward Bradley Barcola from Paris St-Germain on Monday, in a deal worth up to £123m, but the club still wants another attacking addition should Gakpo depart. Liverpool had also explored moves for Brighton's Yankuba Minteh and Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr, but valuations for both players proved difficult. Unless a new winger deal can be revived before Tuesday's deadline, 27-year-old Gakpo is expected to stay at Anfield.
