Manchester City complete £34.2m signing of Palmeiras winger Allan

Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Brazilian winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras, in a deal that could reach £34.2m — an initial £32m plus £2.2m in potential add-ons. The 22-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the Premier League club.

Allan arrives as a direct replacement for fellow Brazilian Savio, who left City for Tottenham Hotspur last week in a £75m move. A product of Palmeiras' youth academy, the right-sided winger made 96 appearances for the Brazilian club across all competitions, scoring nine goals and providing 12 assists.

Speaking after the move, Allan described joining City as a surreal and proud moment, pointing to the club's trophy haul over the past 15 years and its standing as one of the most attractive destinations for top players. He said his affection for Palmeiras remains, but that the decision to move to England was straightforward given his ambitions to reach the top of the game.

Busy summer window continues

Allan becomes the latest addition to Enzo Maresca's squad in a summer that has already seen City spend more than £230m. The club previously paid £116m to Nottingham Forest for Elliot Anderson and £85.6m to Lille for Ayyoub Bouaddi. City are also in talks with Liverpool over Dutch forward Cody Gakpo and have shown interest in Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

On the outgoing side, City have raised more than £286m from player sales this summer. Rodri, winner of the 2026 World Cup Golden Ball, moved to Barcelona for £65m, while Tijani Reijnders joined Al-Qadsiah for £52m. Nico Gonzalez and James Trafford also left for significant fees, and Omar Marmoush's loan at Tottenham includes an obligation to become permanent for £60m next summer.
