Riga City Council has received a report from a local resident stating that a bear was spotted in the Mangaļsala district of Riga. The municipality shared the information publicly, along with details on the steps taken to verify the report.
Following the report, Riga Municipal Police officers went to inspect the area in question. During the inspection, officers did not find any evidence confirming the presence of a bear in Mangaļsala.
Although the animal was not located during the check, the municipality is advising residents in the area to remain cautious. The official statement did not specify whether further inspections or additional safety measures are planned.
