Māra Zālīte receives Statehood Award
President Edgars Rinkēvičs on Friday presented the Statehood Award to poet and playwright Māra Zālīte at Riga Castle.

A Statehood Award ceremony was held on Friday at Riga Castle, where President Edgars Rinkēvičs presented the honor to poet and playwright Māra Zālīte.
The news was announced by presidential adviser Mārtiņš Drēģeris.
The Statehood Award recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to strengthening Latvia's statehood. This year's recipient, Māra Zālīte, is a well-known Latvian poet and playwright whose body of work has long been connected to themes of Latvian history and national identity.
The ceremony took place at the president's official residence, Riga Castle.
