Marhiyev's season is off to a far better start than last year, when he managed just one goal in 26 appearances for Nuremberg, though he picked up 12 yellow cards along the way. This time he has already shown he can be productive, netting a brace in a single game.
Uldriķis enters late, team already trailing heavily
The Latvian forward was brought on only in the 71st minute, by which point Bielefeld were already down 0:4. He did not feature in the previous league match at all, but had been on the pitch for the decisive moments of the German Cup's round of 32, where he failed to convert a penalty and Arminia were eliminated by a lower-division opponent.
After three rounds this season, Bielefeld have recorded one win and two defeats. Next Friday, the team will host Hamburg club St. Pauli, who recently dropped out of the top-tier Bundesliga.
