Mark Zuckerberg buys castle estate in Ireland
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan have purchased Strancally Castle and its 440-acre estate in Ireland, a deal reportedly worth tens of millions of euros.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has added a castle to his real estate holdings. He and his wife Priscilla Chan bought Strancally Castle along with its surrounding 440-acre estate in Ireland, according to The Irish Times, with the purchase completed several weeks ago.
The exact price paid has not been disclosed, but estimates suggest the family may have paid somewhere between €20 million and €30 million for the roughly 16,000-square-foot property. The castle had previously been restored by its former owners.
Family plans to spend time there
A Meta spokesperson told The Irish Times that Zuckerberg and his family are excited to continue caring for the historic home and look forward to spending time in Ireland, where Meta operates its international headquarters. The publication noted, however, that it understands the couple will continue to primarily live in the United States.
A property with history
Strancally Castle dates back to around 1830, when it was built for a Tory member of parliament. Its most recent owners before the sale were Michael Alen-Buckley, co-founder of a private investment firm, and his wife Giancarla.
