Martha Stewart co-founded AI assistant Hint helps homeowners manage their property

Hint, a startup co-founded by lifestyle icon Martha Stewart, has launched an AI-powered mobile app designed to help homeowners manage and maintain their properties. The app aggregates public data such as property records, weather, and soil information, and allows users to upload documents like insurance policies, warranties, and mortgage agreements.

Users can ask the built-in AI chatbot questions about their home's upkeep — from simple tasks like when to change an air filter to complex queries about insurance deductibles or the feasibility of a home equity line of credit. Hint also generates a personalized maintenance schedule with push notifications, and offers a “home score” that rates the overall condition of the property.

Co-founder and CTO Kyle Rush, a former engineering lead at Casper and CTO at Maisonette, said the app initially focused on decarbonization incentives before pivoting to a broader home management tool. Martha Stewart, who lives near Rush in New York, is actively involved in product development, providing feedback on design, language, and content. She holds equity in the company but is not a financial investor.

Hint is powered by OpenAI and Gemini models. The iOS app is currently free with no ads; a future premium tier may add multi-property support. The startup has raised $10 million from investors including Brian Kelly (The Points Guy), Slow Ventures, and Tusk Venture Partners.
