Mārtiņš Ķeņģis leaves acting chairman role at EDzL; Dāvis Blaus appointed

The Ministry of Transport (SM) announced that Mārtiņš Ķeņģis has left the position of acting chairman of the board of SIA "Eiropas dzelzceļa līnijas" (EDzL). This week, he began serving as chairman of the board of SIA "Lautus", a medical and hazardous waste management company. Ķeņģis had been appointed as acting chairman of EDzL on April 7 of this year.

To ensure uninterrupted operations, Dāvis Blaus, the company's project manager, has been appointed as a board member of EDzL. He will serve during a transition period until a permanent manager is selected through an open competition. Currently, Blaus is the sole board member, as previous acting board member Jānis Naglis was appointed to the board of municipal company SIA "Rīgas satiksme" as of June 1.

According to the ministry, Blaus has over ten years of experience in transport, infrastructure, and construction sectors. He is responsible for managing the design expertise process for Rail Baltica in Latvia. Previously, he held leadership roles at the Civil Aviation Agency and Rīga Airport, overseeing complex infrastructure projects and large teams.

Earlier reports indicated that in late February, former EDzL board chairman Māris Dzelme resigned. The ministry accepted his resignation and elected Naglis as a board member for five years. On April 7, Ķeņģis became acting chairman.

EDzL is a state-owned company with a share capital of €4.445 million.
