Two envoys of US President Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, arrived in Moscow today as part of ongoing efforts to advance negotiations aimed at ending the war in Ukraine.

Kyiv visit to follow

On Sunday, the two envoys are due to travel to Kyiv as well — their first such visit to the Ukrainian capital. It remains unclear exactly what proposals the US side has presented to the Kremlin for ending the conflict.

Three-day pause on strikes

In connection with the envoys' visits to both warring nations, the leaders of Ukraine and Russia have stated that they will hold off on strikes against each other's capitals — Kyiv and Moscow, respectively — for the next three days. The move is seen as a gesture that could help create more favorable conditions for talks.

Further details about the substance of the negotiations or their possible outcome have not yet been disclosed.
