Moscow and the surrounding region came under a massive drone attack overnight, triggering multiple fires, according to monitoring channels and statements from Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

Sobyanin said on social media that a drone attack targeting Moscow had been repelled overnight and that emergency service specialists were working at the sites where wreckage fell. He later added that Russia's Defence Ministry air defense forces had destroyed a total of 151 drones.

Fires in Sofyino and Kapotnya

According to monitoring reports, the drones entered Russian airspace in groups, heading toward Moscow. The strike reportedly hit the area of the "Sofyino" logistics technopark located near Moscow, where a large-scale fire broke out.

Monitoring channels also published video showing a strong fire in Kapotnya, the district where Moscow's oil refinery is located. Precise details on the extent of the damage or possible casualties are not yet available.

The attack comes amid ongoing Ukrainian drone strikes on energy and logistics facilities across Russian territory, including oil refineries.
