Massive Ukrainian drone strike hits Moscow — oil refinery and warehouse complex on fire

Overnight into Sunday, Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles carried out a mass attack on Moscow and the Moscow region, triggering major fires at the "Sofyino" logistics technopark and at an oil refinery in Kapotnya.

Monitoring channels reported that drones approached Moscow in groups, with strikes concentrated in the area of the "Sofyino" technopark near the capital. Published footage also showed a powerful fire in Kapotnya, home to the Moscow oil refinery — the same facility Ukrainian drones struck back in June, causing significant damage at the time.

Warehouse complex destroyed

Ukrainian weapons manufacturer Fire Point stated that its FP-1 strike drones destroyed a warehouse complex in the Moscow region. According to initial information, the facilities belonged to a company called "Modern Warehouse Technologies."

Hundreds of flights disrupted

The Telegram channel "Ostorozhno Novosti" reported that more than 150 flights were cancelled or rerouted at Sheremetyevo Airport following the drone attack.

Casualties and official figures

Moscow region governor Andrei Vorobyov said two people were killed and six more injured as a result of the drone strikes. According to him, 249 drones targeted the Moscow region overnight into Sunday.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, meanwhile, described the attack as the largest Ukrainian drone strike on Moscow to date. According to Sobyanin, more than 1,600 drones have been intercepted across the country's borders since Saturday, with 450 of them heading toward Moscow.
