Mother reports violence against her child at Riga State Classical Gymnasium primary school
The mother of a primary pupil at Riga State Classical Gymnasium told the programme "Bez Tabu" about a classmate's aggressive behaviour. She says the school administration is not resolving the problem, so she has turned to supervisory authorities.

The mother of a primary school pupil at Riga State Classical Gymnasium in Latvia's capital has told the programme "Bez Tabu" that her child has repeatedly been put at risk by a classmate's aggressive behaviour. She believes the school's management has not responded adequately or in good time, and after the latest incident she sought help from several supervisory institutions.
Incident this semester
According to the mother, a classmate strangled her child this semester. Two teachers had to step in. One of them was reportedly hit by the aggressive pupil as well.
Earlier cases
The woman says this was not the only such occasion. In the previous school year the same child allegedly behaved aggressively too, for example hitting another pupil on the head with a bottle. Her own child also suffered a separate attack, and a scratch scar from it remains to this day.
Safety concerns
The mother says she informed the school administration about the classmate's behaviour long ago, but the necessary response did not follow. She fears for the safety of her son and the other children in the class.
The source does not include the view of the school or the supervisory bodies, nor any information on decisions taken. All claims about the incidents rest on the mother's account.
