On Friday, June 26, a small plane crashed into Beijing's tallest skyscraper, the 528-meter CITIC Tower, in the Chinese capital. Emergency services, including police, firefighters, and ambulances, rushed to the scene and sealed off the area, urging bystanders not to stop or record footage.

Images from the scene showed a large hole in the upper floors of the building, while witnesses reported seeing aircraft debris at the base of the tower. Social media footage appeared to show smoke rising from the building and firefighters battling the blaze, although the authenticity of some videos could not be independently verified.

Chinese authorities had not issued an official statement by the time of publication, and the cause of the incident remains unclear. Nearby streets were closed, and traffic was redirected as rescue operations continued.
