Data from the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that in June 2026, retail trade turnover in Latvia increased by 4.8% compared to June 2025. These figures are calendar-adjusted and expressed in comparable prices to ensure an accurate comparison.

Among the various types of trade, postal and internet trade showed the highest growth. Precise growth figures for this segment have not been separately released, but the overall trend indicates an increase in consumer activity. Experts suggest that this rise may be linked to both seasonal factors and the continued popularity of online shopping.

Overall, the retail sector continues to show stable growth, which is a positive sign for the economy. However, it should be noted that the data is only comparable with the same period last year and does not show month-on-month changes. The CSB will provide more detailed information by product groups and trade channels in the coming months.
