The weekend of July 31 and August 1 saw the town of Koknese host the hunting festival “Minhauzens 2026”. The event gathered 67 teams representing various hunting collectives from all over Latvia, underlining the strong interest within the country’s hunting community.

Participants came together in a spirit of shared enthusiasm and camaraderie. Among them were several groups from the surrounding region, including the hunting sports club Grundzāle, the hunters’ club Raunas Mednieks, the hunting association Vidzeme, the hunters’ club Gaujmala, and the hunters’ club Drusti. The presence of these local teams highlighted the festival’s relevance beyond the host municipality.

Held over two days, the festival provided an opportunity for hunters from different parts of Latvia to meet, exchange experiences, and reinforce bonds within their community. The number of participating teams – 67 in total – illustrates the event’s established place in the hunting calendar. From sports clubs to associations, a wide range of organizations took part, demonstrating the diversity of Latvia’s hunting sector.

By choosing Koknese as the venue, the festival managed to bring together participants from across the country. The event once again proved that hunting traditions remain alive and valued. Community spirit and passion for the craft were central to the gathering, making it a memorable occasion for all involved.
