Megamarket exempts itself from liability for failing obligations during drone attacks

Megamarket, the online marketplace owned by Sberbank, has changed its seller agreement to protect itself from liability for failing to fulfill its duties during drone strikes, according to the Telegram channel Mozhem Obyasnit.

A previous version of the agreement, dated April 10, exempted the marketplace from responsibility when its failure to meet obligations stemmed from force majeure events, including natural disasters, strikes, military actions, and robberies.

The new version, dated July 24, adds a clause covering "any aftermath of the use, impact, falling, launch, or activation of weapons, military equipment, aircraft (including unmanned aerial vehicles), means of destruction, ammunition and their components, as well as shelling and explosions and other means of destruction."

Other major Russian marketplaces—Ozon, Wildberries, and Yandex Market—had already made similar changes to their seller agreements. Wildberries revised its own agreement in early July, just days before a series of Ukrainian drone strikes hit its warehouses across several Russian regions.
