Meghan Markle Reveals Family Rule: Dessert Only from the Garden
During a guest appearance on "MasterChef Australia", the Duchess of Sussex shared that her children are only allowed dessert if they can pick it from their garden, rather than having sweets or store-bought treats.

Meghan Markle recently appeared as a guest judge on the Australian cooking show "MasterChef Australia", filling in for judge Andy Allen who was on parental leave. The contestants were tasked with preparing a meal deemed "duchess-worthy" using ingredients chosen by Meghan herself.
During the episode, Meghan also spoke about her family habits. She revealed that both her children, seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet, happily eat Brussels sprouts. The Duchess shared a parenting rule regarding desserts: the kids can only have dessert if they can pick it from the family garden – meaning fresh fruit rather than chocolate or other store-bought snacks. Judge Sophie Levin jokingly noted that you can't pick chocolate from a garden, to which Meghan agreed, smiling and adding that you can pick a tasty fruit.
Meghan clarified that sweets are not completely banned in their home. She admitted that there is always some delicious dessert available, which her husband Prince Harry calls "pudding." She also mentioned that Harry is a fan of meat and potatoes dishes.
Later in the show, a video call came in from Prince Harry. He joked about the chandeliers in the studio and wished Meghan an enjoyable tasting. The moment received mixed reactions on social media, with some viewers calling it staged and awkward. It was also reported that Meghan did not receive any payment for her appearance. Meanwhile, her lifestyle series "With Love, Meghan" was recently nominated for a Daytime Emmy award.
