Fishermen rescued after five days adrift in a fish cool box off Mexico
The Mexican Navy rescued two fishermen who spent five days drifting at sea inside a cool box normally used to store fish. The men were found around 150 miles off the coast of Chiapas.
The Mexican Navy rescued two fishermen on 19 August after they had been missing for five days at sea. The men, aged 53 and 32, were found roughly 150 miles off the coast of Chiapas.
The search began after their fishing cooperative lost contact with them on 15 August and issued a distress call to the authorities.
The two men were discovered alive, floating in the ocean inside a large cool box normally used on fishing boats to store the day's catch.
Following the rescue, authorities gave the men a medical evaluation before reuniting them with their families.
