Montenegro restaurant draws visitors with its cat 'waiter'

In the historic Montenegrin town of Budva, a local restaurant called “Freedom Bar & Prosciutteria” has gained widespread attention on social media because of an unusual four-legged staff member — a cat that performs duties resembling those of a real waiter.

Leading guests to their table

Videos captured by onlookers show a black-and-white cat waiting patiently by the restaurant's entrance for arriving guests. As soon as people show up, the cat walks ahead of them, leading them to an available table. Once there, it jumps onto the table, appearing to “present” the menu.

A sign marking the tradition

The restaurant has even put up a sign at its entrance reading “Follow the cat,” highlighting this unusual custom. Visitors who have experienced it have shared their enthusiasm online, saying the cat's routine makes dining in Budva's old town an unforgettable experience. Footage of the unusual “waiter” has attracted considerable attention on social media.
