Mercedes adds cheaper all-wheel-drive model to electric C-Class lineup
Mercedes-Benz has opened orders for a new electric C-Class variant, the C 300 4MATIC, which costs less than the existing C 400 4MATIC while keeping all-wheel drive. The model starts at €62,951.
Mercedes-Benz has expanded its electric C-Class range with a new variant called the C 300 4MATIC. The model is less powerful than the previously available C 400 4MATIC but costs almost five thousand euros less while still offering all-wheel drive.
Technical specifications
The C 300 4MATIC comes with an 85 kWh battery, allowing a range of up to 690 kilometers under the WLTP testing cycle. Thanks to 800-volt technology, the car supports fast charging at up to 320 kW, enabling a ten-minute charge to add roughly 290 kilometers of range.
The drivetrain produces 310 kW, or approximately 421 horsepower, along with 800 Nm of torque. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 210 km/h. Buyers can also opt for AIRMATIC air suspension and rear-axle steering, along with a towing capacity of up to 1.8 tonnes.
Design and features
The model features a coupe-like silhouette and an illuminated version of the brand's signature radiator grille. Inside, the focus is on digital technology, including a 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen display and various driver-assistance systems. Practical touches include a 470-liter trunk and an additional 101-liter front storage compartment.
The C 300 4MATIC joins the more powerful C 400 4MATIC, which has been available since spring with 360 kW (490 horsepower) and a starting price of €67,711 in Germany. Mercedes-Benz has indicated that the electric C-Class lineup will continue to expand with additional models and battery versions in the future.
