“Melodies in Patterns” exhibition opens at Mēri Manor
On August 15, Mēri Manor and the Smiltene Municipality Museum in Bilska parish opened their eighth annual themed craft and art exhibition, titled “Melodies in Patterns” and dedicated to a Maestro. The exhibition will remain open to visitors for several months.

Mēri Manor in Bilska parish, Smiltene municipality, has a longstanding tradition of hosting a nationwide craft and art exhibition each August, which then remains open to visitors for a couple of months afterward. This year, on August 15, the eighth such themed exhibition in a row was opened.
The exhibition has been given the title “Melodies in Patterns” and is dedicated as a tribute to a Maestro.
Organizers and participants
As in previous years, the exhibition was organized by the Folk Applied Arts Studio “Smiltene” in cooperation with the Smiltene Municipality Museum, which is housed at Mēri Manor, and the Smiltene Municipality Culture Centre. Organizers had earlier invited artists, craftspeople and handicraft makers from across Latvia to contribute their works to the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open to visitors for several months following its opening, continuing the annual tradition at Mēri Manor and the Smiltene Municipality Museum of showcasing the work of Latvian craftspeople and artists.
