Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick told journalists on Monday that the club will continue to wait before making a decision on a new forward. Flick said he fully trusts sporting director Deco, adding: "We know that something has to be done." He also noted that the next steps depend on the situation of Ferran Torres.

Last season, Barcelona's attack was built around Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres. Lewandowski has now moved to the United States, while Torres – the scorer of a World Cup-winning goal – has only one year remaining on his contract, which leaves his future at the Catalan club uncertain.

The club's primary transfer target is Argentina striker Julián Álvarez. Barcelona have made an offer worth more than one hundred million euros for him. The signing would fill the gap left by Lewandowski and would also help address the unclear situation surrounding Torres.

Flick indicated that Lamine Yamal and summer signings Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi could be used in attacking midfield positions. However, the priority remains adding a new centre-forward rather than relying only on the current options.

Barcelona are now working on strengthening their attacking line, and Flick's comments suggest the club's leadership recognizes the need for change. In the coming days, more clarity is expected regarding a potential Álvarez transfer and Torres's future at the club.
