Meta quietly launches 'Pocket' app for creating generative AI minigames
Meta has soft-launched a new mobile app called Pocket that lets users create their own minigames using generative AI, but it is not yet available in the US and no official announcement has been made.

Meta appears to have quietly launched a new app called Pocket, designed to let users create their own minigames through generative AI. Mobile developer and reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi spotted the app and posted about it on X, while reporting platform AppFigures told TechCrunch that the app has been available on both iOS and Android since June 29.
Although listed publicly, Pocket is not yet accessible in the United States – at least not on several phone models linked to our Google accounts. A help page on Meta's site states that "the Pocket app is not yet available everywhere." The company has not made any public announcement about the launch or where the app is being trialed. Media outlets have reached out for comment but have not received a response as of now.
Over the past year, Meta has been aggressively integrating artificial intelligence into its services, from cosmetic tweaks to standalone apps. TechCrunch suggests that Pocket may be the result of Meta hiring the entire team behind Gizmo earlier this year – an app that used AI to create interactive experiences based on user prompts. Pocket uses the same terminology, branding itself as "a creative platform for making and sharing gizmos" in its listing, and the Play Store shortcode "com.facebook.gizmo" further reinforces that connection.
