Meta Tests AI Bedtime Story App for Kids

According to Meta, StoryKit uses AI to generate stories without requiring users to write any text. Parents can snap a photo of a favorite toy or person to create a character, describe the story world, and choose a moral lesson like kindness or courage. The app includes safety filters and has no social features; it is only available to users aged 18 and older.

Meta is currently piloting StoryKit in select countries to gather feedback from parents. The company emphasized that the app is designed to help parents craft imaginative storybooks for their children.

While the app aims to simplify bedtime routines, some critics argue that relying on AI for storytelling could reduce human creativity and connection. The article notes that despite the convenience, there is value in traditional, human-crafted stories.
