Metta Crush Tukums Reserves 9-0; Valmiera Dominate Riga-2

In the Latvian Nākotnes League, Metta secured a crushing 9-0 victory over Tukums 2000 reserves, while Valmiera beat Riga-2 3-0.

The 14th round of Latvia's second-tier football league concluded with emphatic wins for Metta and Valmiera.

Metta demolished the Tukums 2000 reserves 9-0 at home. Six goals were scored in the first half alone. Ghanaian forward Prince Amoah recorded a hat-trick within 30 minutes (6', 24', 36'). Nigerian striker Sadik Sale, the league's top scorer with 15 goals, netted once (28'), while his 18-year-old compatriot Kehinde Abdulrahim scored a brace (62', 74'). Other goals came from Daniils Čiņajevs (30'), Rudolfs Kļavinskis (53'), and an own goal by Tukums' player-coach Toms Aizgravis (32'). Goalkeeper Mārtiņš Veļiks conceded nine times.

Meanwhile, at Jānis Daliņš Stadium, Valmiera faced Riga-2, whose goal was guarded by Latvia national team goalkeeper Krišjānis Zviedris. Brazilian forward Gleison Lopes beat him twice (20', 58'), both assists from Mamadou Dembélé. Dembélé himself scored in the 85th minute to seal a 3-0 win. Lopes now has 12 goals, second in the league behind Sale.

In the next round, Valmiera will host RFS-2, while Metta travel to Riga-2.

Other 14th-round results: RFS-2 beat Smiltene 5-3 away; JDFS Albert and Super Nova-2 drew 1-1; Riga Mariners and Ventspils shared a 1-1 draw; Mārupe defeated Rēzekne 2-1 away; Leevon PPK beat Skanste 2-1 at home.

In the standings, Metta lead with 37 points, followed by Valmiera on 35.
