Exhibition Reveals Duchess Dorothea’s Salon

This summer, Mežotne Palace presents the exhibition "Court of the Muses: The Salon of Duchess Dorothea of Courland at Löbichau Palace in Ernst Welker’s Caricatures." It offers a unique glimpse into one of the most vibrant aristocratic and intellectual salons of 19th-century Europe. The exhibition focuses on caricatures by Ernst Welker, portraying the duchess herself and the guests who frequented her salon at Löbichau Palace.

First Anniversary of Museum Management

The exhibition marks the first anniversary since Mežotne Palace came under the management of Rundāle Palace Museum. This collaboration enriches the cultural and historical offering, allowing visitors to explore not only the palace’s architecture but also significant historical artifacts.
