MG brand opens pop-up car showroom in Riga's Spice shopping centre
Autobrava Motors has launched an MG pop-up car showroom at Riga's Spice Style shopping centre, aiming to reach customers on the left bank of the Daugava. The location is planned to operate at least until early next year.
MG's official representative in Latvia, Autobrava Motors, has expanded its presence in Riga by opening a pop-up showroom in the Pārdaugava district, on the left bank of the Daugava river. The new sales point is located inside the Spice Style shopping centre at Lielirbes iela 29.
Reasoning behind the location
MG's sales and brand manager, Marina Novikova, explained that the site was chosen deliberately to bring the brand closer to customers living on the left bank. Visitors can learn about the MG model range and arrange test drives, which take place on public streets rather than inside the shopping centre, as sometimes seen in television shows.
One car, and a consultant on hand
Unlike the common practice of displaying vehicles in shopping centres purely as static showpieces, Autobrava Motors has taken a different approach: a consultant is always present next to the displayed car to answer visitors' questions. The pop-up space fits only one vehicle, and its colour and configuration were chosen to match customer preferences — grey exterior with a brown interior — while the display itself was designed to blend in with the surrounding shops' style.
Test drives and model availability
Cars used for test drives are parked in the lot near the shopping centre's A entrance. The specific models on offer will shift depending on customer interest, though a particular test-drive model can be arranged in advance by calling the MG showroom on Krasta iela.
The new sales location at Spice is planned to remain open at least until the beginning of next year, with its future beyond that still to be decided.
