Latvian gymnast Mickevičs advances to European Championship pommel horse final
Latvian gymnast Dmitrijs Mickevičs finished fourth on the pommel horse at the European Championships in Zagreb, qualifying for the final, while teammate Ričards Plāte placed 72nd in the all-around.

At the European Gymnastics Championships in Zagreb on Wednesday, Latvia's Dmitrijs Mickevičs posted the fourth-best score on the pommel horse, securing a spot in the eight-man final. He scored 14.466 points in the event.
The top score on the pommel horse belonged to Italy's Gabriele Targhetta, who recorded 15.200 points.
Plāte's mixed results
Latvia's other representative, Ričards Plāte, competed in the all-around competition among 123 athletes. On the pommel horse he scored 12.766 points, placing 61st. His results in the other apparatus were: rings - 85th with 12.000 points, parallel bars - 88th with 12.200 points, floor exercise - 99th with 12.300 points, vault - 114th with 12.333 points, and horizontal bar - also 114th.
Across all six apparatus, Plāte accumulated a total of 71.099 points, placing him 72nd among 82 competitors.
The European Gymnastics Championships in Zagreb will conclude on Sunday, when medals will be decided in the individual apparatus finals.
