Miezis's Mongolian team fails to reach quarterfinals at Hungary 3x3 basketball tournament

Ulaanbaatar's team featuring Latvian player Jānis Miezis lost both of its Group C matches at the 3x3 basketball tournament in Hungary and was eliminated before the quarterfinals. A Shanghai team represented by Kārlis Pauls Lasmanis was also knocked out.

At a 3x3 basketball tournament in Hungary, the Ulaanbaatar team, seeded sixth and featuring Latvian player Jānis Miezis, failed to advance to the quarterfinals. In Group C play, the Mongolian side lost 16:22 to Serbia's "Liman," seeded third, and 15:21 to Bonn's "Baskets," seeded seventh.

Miezis scored three points, grabbed two rebounds and recorded two assists in the first game. In the second match, he contributed two points and three rebounds.

In the group's final match, Bonn's "Baskets" defeated Serbia's "Liman" 20:11 to claim first place in the group.

Lasmanis also eliminated

China's "Shanghai" team, seeded eighth and featuring Kārlis Pauls Lasmanis, also failed to clear the qualifying stage. The Shanghai side lost 13:21 to the Czech Republic's "Liberec," seeded 14th, but beat fellow Chinese team "Hangzhou," seeded tenth, 21:12.

Lasmanis scored five points in the first game and added two points with a long-range shot in the second.

The tournament's winners will be determined on Sunday.
