Michal: Opposition in panic, the 'bad economy' story no longer holds weight

Estonian Prime Minister and Reform Party chairman Kristen Michal said on social media that opposition demands for the government to resign and for early elections to be held reflect panic on the opposition's part.
Michal argued that the opposition's narrative about the country's poor economic condition no longer works. He said the opposition is in a hurry because it knows its story about the country being mired in economic crisis will not hold up until the elections.
Accusation of falsehood
The prime minister said this narrative is built on lies and propaganda that have already been publicly disproven by facts and data from Statistics Estonia.
Michal recalled that during his time as prime minister, the country's economy has grown consistently, with wage growth significantly outpacing price growth. He noted that over the past 17 years, the economy grew in 14 of them.
The statement comes as the opposition in Estonia is calling for the government's resignation and for snap elections to be held.
