Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty announced that through cooperation with federal partners, prosecutors have obtained hard drives of previously withheld evidence in the killings of Renée Good and Alex Pretti, as well as the shooting of Julio Sosa-Celis. The evidence includes Good's car, statements, police body-camera video, and other materials.

Renée Good, an unarmed U.S. citizen and mother, was fatally shot on January 7 in Minneapolis by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent. The 37-year-old was shot while sitting in the driver's seat of her car. A private autopsy showed three gunshot wounds, including one to the head.

Alex Pretti, a Minneapolis nurse, was shot dead on January 24 by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials while observing immigration officers.

Minnesota authorities had earlier said the FBI was refusing to share evidence. Governor Tim Walz demanded an impartial investigation. Moriarty stated that obtaining this evidence has been a priority since January 7, and the community has rightfully demanded it for six months.

Julio Sosa-Celis, a Venezuelan national, was shot during the Trump administration's immigration crackdown. The federal officer who shot him was charged in May with four counts of second-degree assault and one count of falsely reporting a crime.
