Bayern Munich Begin Preparations with 15-Year-Old Goalkeeper and Defeat
The Bavarian club lost 2-1 to Wehen in a friendly, with 15-year-old David Podars-Štiūbe in goal for the first half.
Bayern Munich kicked off their summer preparations with a 2-1 loss to Wehen. The first half saw 15-year-old goalkeeper David Podars-Štiūbe between the posts, replaced at halftime by Sven Ulreich. Wehen took the lead in the 10th minute, but Tom Bišof equalized from the penalty spot in the 57th minute. The home side scored the winner in the 83rd minute.
Ahead of the German Supercup on August 22, Bayern have several friendlies lined up: against amateur side Rottach-Egern (previous results 23-0, 27-0, and 14-1), South Korea's Jeju, Birmingham's Aston Villa, and Leipzig's RasenBallsport.
In other friendlies, Aston Villa lost 2-1 to Porto, while Leipzig defeated third-tier Ingolstadt 1-0 after 120 minutes. Celtic Glasgow took a 2-0 lead over Milan through Colombian Camilo Durans and Scotsman James Forrest within the first half hour, but Milan fought back early in the second half with two goals from 18-year-old Francesco Camarda.
