Smart recreational boat startup MIRAVA has secured €4.2 million ($5 million) in angel funding, allowing it to shift from product development into small-batch manufacturing and initial customer deliveries. Over the past three years, the company has worked on its first product, which combines intelligent navigation, modular design and software-driven features within a single boating platform.

European debut

MIRAVA will present its product to the European market at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2026, followed by an appearance at boot Düsseldorf in January 2027.

A different approach to a traditional industry

Recreational boating has long been organised around traditional use cases such as cruising, fishing, water-sports and entertaining. MIRAVA aims to offer an alternative by building a platform that adapts to different ways people spend time on the water, rather than requiring users to adapt to a boat built for one purpose.

The company's first boat is designed to support cruising, family leisure, socialising, swimming, fishing and water-sports. Central to this is a modular stern that can be reconfigured depending on the activity, along with a detachable section that can function independently as a tender or floating platform.

Intelligent navigation built for practical use

The boat's navigation system includes autonomous docking, autonomous departure and arrival, dynamic positioning and the ability to follow a user automatically. A smart wearable lets the boat follow a swimmer, paddle-boarder or diver at a safe distance. The goal is to reduce the complexity of operating a boat so users can focus more on the experience itself.

The new funding will support further development of the product and its intelligent systems, as well as the next phase of manufacturing and delivery. Through its appearances in Cannes and Düsseldorf, MIRAVA intends to introduce the boat to potential customers, partners and the wider marine industry.
