Luka Modric, one of the greatest Croatian footballers of all time, will continue his professional career at the age of 41. After 13 seasons with Real Madrid, he joined Italian Serie A club AC Milan last summer on a one-year contract. That deal has now been extended for another season, allowing Modric to keep playing at the highest level.

In the past season, Milan finished fifth in the Italian league with 70 points from 38 matches, securing a spot in the UEFA Europa League. Modric was a consistent presence, playing 34 league games, scoring two goals and providing three assists.

He also represented Croatia at the World Cup earlier this year, starting all four matches and recording one assist. Croatia exited in the round of 16 after a dramatic 1-2 loss to Portugal. Overall, Modric has 202 caps and 29 goals for his national team.

Modric achieved his greatest successes during 13 seasons at Real Madrid, winning the UEFA Champions League six times and the Spanish league title four times. His experience and skill will be a valuable asset for AC Milan in the upcoming season.
