Motorola's Signature 27 to be first phone with Qualcomm's new Extreme chipset
Motorola has announced the Signature 27, the first smartphone to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, though full specs, pricing and release date remain unconfirmed.
Motorola has become the first company to announce a phone equipped with Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. The Signature 27 is shaping up to be one of Motorola's most advanced flagship devices in years, though the company has yet to reveal complete specifications, pricing, or a release date.
A distinctive design
The aluminum-bodied phone is notably thin and will come in two colorways: black, officially named "Pantone coal smoke," and green, dubbed "Pantone capulet olive." One version features a woven tactical texture, while the other has a feather-inspired finish. The phone's top slopes upward into what Motorola calls a "camera plane" — an unusual arch-shaped arrangement housing four lenses and a flash.
Confirmed features
A B&O logo near the camera module confirms that Bang & Olufsen contributed to the phone's audio design, although further details haven't been shared. Motorola is promising seven years of Android software updates, a notably long commitment for the brand. The camera setup includes a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens alongside a 50-megapixel main camera. The main sensor is particularly notable for using Sony's LOFIC-enabled Lytia 910 sensor — the same sensor recently seen in the Vivo X500 Pro Max — which enables 17 stops of dynamic range.
Motorola says additional details about the Signature 27 will be released soon, with a global launch planned before the end of the year. Unlike the original Motorola Signature phone launched earlier this year, this model's global rollout will include the US market.
