Mudryk to resume career at Tottenham after near year-long absence

Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement to bring in Chelsea's Ukrainian forward Mykhaylo Mudryk to strengthen their attack. Reports indicate the move will be a loan, with an option to make the transfer permanent next summer for a fee that could reach around €85.5 million.

Chelsea had also discussed Mudryk's future with Leeds United and reportedly turned down at least one other offer for the player. Tottenham entered the race at the last moment, after failing to land Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye and Liverpool's Cody Gakpo.

The 25-year-old Mudryk has not played in an official match since November 2024, when he was provisionally banned following a positive test for the prohibited substance meldonium. In early August this year, the English Football Association closed the case, clearing the way for his return to the pitch.

Another Chelsea addition

Tottenham are also signing defender Tosin Adarabioyo from Chelsea, in a permanent deal reportedly worth eight million euros.

With the additions of Mudryk and Adarabioyo, Tottenham will have made nine signings this summer, including Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, whose combined transfer fees cost the club just under €200 million.
