In a Group K World Cup match, Colombia defeated DR Congo 1-0. The first half ended goalless despite Colombia dominating possession and creating 14 shots compared to DR Congo's two. However, Colombia's attacks lacked sharpness, with an expected goals (xG) of only 0.70, while DR Congo's goalkeeper made six saves. The best chance came in the fourth minute when Daniel Munjoz failed to score from close range.

In the second half, DR Congo grew into the game and matched Colombia more evenly, taking five shots to Colombia's six. The decisive moment came in the 76th minute when Munjoz latched onto a loose ball in the box and fired it into the bottom right corner to give Colombia the lead. DR Congo had a few opportunities to equalize, notably from a corner where Pikel shot wide, but they could not find the target.

The win is Colombia's second in the tournament (following a 3-0 victory over Uzbekistan), and they now sit top of Group K with six points. A draw or win against Portugal in their final group match will secure first place. DR Congo still have a chance to advance as one of the best third-placed teams if they beat Uzbekistan.
