Musk reportedly willing to let Kyiv use Starlink-equipped drones to strike Russia

According to the British newspaper Financial Times, citing sources, US businessman Elon Musk has indicated he would be willing to let Ukraine's armed forces use drones equipped with his Starlink satellite system to strike targets on Russian territory. Sources say Musk discussed the matter with Ukraine's former defense minister, Mykhailo Fedorov.

However, Musk reportedly stressed that the decision is a political one that must be made in Washington rather than by him personally. The newspaper notes that US President Donald Trump has not agreed to such a step so far.

Zelensky's earlier request

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had previously appealed to Musk to allow the use of Starlink-equipped drones for strikes on ballistic missile launch sites within Russian territory, up to 200 kilometers from the border. According to Fedorov, this capability could play an important role in protecting Ukrainian cities from Russian missile attacks.

Fedorov declines to comment

Speaking to the Financial Times, Fedorov declined to discuss his conversations with Musk and did not comment on the sources' claims about the billionaire's alleged willingness to authorize long-range strikes by Kyiv into Russia. He also did not answer whether he plans to meet with Musk, saying only that he remains in contact with him.
