The Latvian Theatre Workers' Union has announced the death of actor Enriko Avots, who passed away on June 14, 2026. Born on November 2, 1952, Avots began his career at the Youth Theatre in 1976, where he performed until 1992. He later worked at the New Riga Theatre and Latvian Television.
Avots was widely recognized for his role as Varis in the children's television program 'Kas te? Es te!', becoming a cherished figure among young audiences. His contributions to Latvian theatre and television spanned decades, leaving a lasting impact on the cultural landscape.
