Nations League: no winners in Helsinki or Chișinău
In UEFA Nations League Division C matches, Finland and Belarus drew 0:0 in Helsinki, while Moldova and the Faroe Islands shared points 1:1 in Chișinău.
Monday evening's early UEFA Nations League Division C fixtures produced no winners, as both Finland and Moldova failed to beat their opponents at home.
Helsinki: Finland – Belarus 0:0
Finland dominated the first half in their capital. Belarusian first-choice goalkeeper Fyodar Lapavukhov, who plays for CSKA Sofia, denied a dangerous effort from Kaan Kairinen. Topi Keskinen later fired wide of the target, while a shot from former RFS player Adam Marhiyeu came close to being turned into his own net by Zakhar Volkau.
The second half saw Belarus grow into the game. Porto's 20-year-old Trofim Melnichenko struck the crossbar. In the 65th minute, Monaco goalkeeper Lukáš Hradecký had to retrieve the ball from his own net after saving a shot from Anton Kavalyou, but Alyaksandr Selyava was first to react to the rebound. The effort was ultimately disallowed for offside, and the match finished goalless.
Chișinău: Moldova – Faroe Islands 1:1
Hosts Moldova were held to a 1:1 draw by the Faroe Islands, unable to secure victory on home soil.
Both groups in Division C remain closely contested. In the previous round, Finland thrashed San Marino 7-0 while Belarus lost 0-2 to Albania. In the third group, Slovakia previously beat Moldova 2-0, while the Faroe Islands and Kazakhstan drew 1-1.
