Nations League: Latvia's rivals stay unbeaten, Bosnia edge past Poland, Georgia goalless for fourth straight match
In UEFA Nations League action, Cyprus beat Latvia 2:1 while Montenegro and Armenia drew, and in League B Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated Poland to set up a promotion decider against Sweden.

Several UEFA Nations League matches on October 5 had direct implications for Latvia's group standing. In League C Group 2, Cyprus beat Latvia 2:1 at home — after Daškevičs equalized for Latvia in the first half, Costi and Edwards scored for Cyprus in the second half to secure the win. In the same group, Montenegro and Armenia played out a goalless draw, a contrast to their earlier high-scoring meeting. After this round, Montenegro top the group while Latvia sit last in fourth place.
Bosnia move closer to promotion
In League B Group 4, Bosnia and Herzegovina beat Poland 1:0 at home, with Bašičs converting a penalty late in the match as the only goal. The result means Sweden and Bosnia will face each other in the final round to decide who earns direct promotion to the top tier. Elsewhere in the same group, Sweden beat Romania 1:0 thanks to a first-half goal from Gyökeres.
Georgia goalless for a fourth consecutive game
In League B Group 2, Northern Ireland and Georgia drew 0:0, marking Georgia's fourth straight match without scoring. Northern Ireland and Hungary will meet in the final round to decide the group's automatic promotion spot. In another match in the group, Ukraine lost 1:2 to Hungary, despite Yaremchuk scoring to open the account in the second half.
All of these groups will be decided in November, when Latvia's final position in League C Group 2 will also be settled.
