Latvia's National Theatre is presenting audiences with the concert production 'Dievišķās nejaušības' ('Divine Coincidences'), which highlights lesser-known aspects of composer Uldis Stabulnieks's body of work. The production was created to mark the fact that the composer would have turned 80 last year.

About the Production

The production was created by director and actress Marija Bērziņa, along with Aleksandrs Tomass Matjussons, composer and head of the theatre's music department. They describe Stabulnieks's music as colorful, marked by a deep emotional world, subtle, and affirming of freedom and life.

The production offers audiences a chance to discover parts of Stabulnieks's creative output that have so far remained less familiar to the wider public. Through this concert production, the National Theatre honors the composer's legacy and offers a fresh perspective on his music, bringing it to life on stage.
