The Latvian National Theatre staged the premiere of a new production of "Don Juan", a play by the French dramatist Molière, on Thursday, 29 October. The director is Aleksandrs Morfovs, for whom this is a debut at the National Theatre. Theatregoers who came for the premiere were drawn by the figure of the legendary seducer.
The director's view
Morfovs stresses that Molière's version struck him as deeper, more philosophical and more provocative than other interpretations of this cultural hero.
