Next Week's Name Days: Sandra and Santa Top the List
According to Latvia's Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs, Sandra and Santa are the most common names among those celebrating name days next week, while Gunvaris and Muntis are the rarest.
Data compiled by Latvia's Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (PMLP) from the Population Register shows which names on next week's calendar are the most and least common among the country's residents.
Most common names
The most widely held name celebrating a name day next week is Sandra, shared by 7,434 people. It is followed by Santa, held by 5,194 residents, then Vera (4,633), Sanita (4,452) and Elita (2,188).
Rarest names
At the other end of the scale, the rarest name on next week's calendar is Gunvaris, held by just one person in Latvia. Other uncommon names include Muntis (22 people), Vaiva (36), Sondra (56), Alita (81) and Gunvaldis (81).
Other celebrants
Name days next week are also celebrated by 873 people named Sanija, 790 Sanda, 788 Marianna, 583 Vaira, 530 Verners, 491 Vairis, 454 Sandija, 227 Liesma, 217 Asja, 212 Guntra, 126 Asnate and 109 Dāgs.
