Brief Rain Expected Overnight in Parts of Latvia, Fog in the East
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre forecasts drizzle and short-lived rain in places overnight, mainly in central Latvia. Early next week the weather should turn drier and sunnier.

Parts of Latvia, mainly the central districts, can expect brief rain and drizzle overnight, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LVĢMC), the state agency responsible for weather observations and forecasts.
Overnight forecast
Winds will blow slowly to moderately from the north. Fog is expected in many places in the east of the country, reducing visibility. Overnight air temperatures will fall to between +3 and +8 degrees Celsius, with the coast about a degree warmer.
In Riga, the night will also be cloudy, with brief rain and drizzle. A light to moderate northerly wind is forecast, and the temperature will drop to +7...+9 degrees.
Outlook for next week
At the start of next week the centre of an anticyclone, a high-pressure system, will move closer to Latvia. As a result, the weather should be pleasant and dry, with more frequent sunshine. Daytime temperatures will reach +7...+12 degrees, while some nights will still bring slight sub-zero readings.
